Sports and Physical Activities

‘SPECIALS’ (extra-curriculars)

‘SPECIALS’ (extra-curriculars) at BMIS are planned with the viewpoint of giving exposure in different kinds of activites for students, to identify their interests and capabilities. These activities helps students to express themselves through various art forms and also gain exposure while acquiring new skills. They pick an activity that piques their interest from the varieties offered – Music, Dance, Theatre, Cookery, Karate & Silambam. Primary grades get to experience art and craft as well. All these activities are provided during the school hours

Kidsfest

Every school year is planned to include an event that is purely focused on ensuring every child gets the opportunity to learn new and showcase existing skills. Such happenings occur as a part of ‘Kidsfest’, our annual day, which again is a manifestation of the chosen theme of the year. This decision of aligning to a theme is done so that Kidsfest ends up becoming a culmination of all the other experiences that children have been a part of, instead it simply being a cultural day unconnected to the rest of what children do through the year.

Field Trip

Field trips are planned to offer chance for children to see the world in all its reality. They are purposefully planned in such a way that the place of visit aligns with the theme of the term. Such interactions thus deepens the learning experience. These experiences are limited to students from Preschool to Grade 2 and includes visiting sites such as the fire station, catering units and the zoo to explore nearby learning spots.

Educational Trip

Edu TripEducational trips are experiences planned for an extended duration specifically to ensure prolonged learning opportunities outside of home. It includes overnight stays at camping sites, treks and visiting cities of historic value. Beyond the new knowledge that children gain from these visits, these escapades also provide a chance fGolkondaor children to explore their individuality.

Greenland Project

Wanting to engage in actually reaping of crops is curbed by lack of space andGreenland Project opportunities more often than not. Budding Minds was fortunate to get our hands on a plot of land right by our main school building were children started the ‘Green Land Project’ that entailed the growing of herbs, medicinal plants, vegetables and greens. The children were a part of the whole process starting from the tilling of the soil to ensuring the plants were watered consistently as needed.

Investing time and energy to help in the growing of something is a sure shot way to build responsibility, care and discipline. That is the very intention of the ‘Green Land Project’.

Project Day

We’ve seen different forms of summative assessments every time topic of teachingProject Day and learning is completed. But what’s the fun in that! Projects days are designed specifically to make sure children find a purposeful way to not just display their learnings, but also teach others what they’ve learnt through the term. Project Days are Proj Day 3one of Budding Minds’ non-negotiable aspects of the school year – as it is one of the best times during which children truly learn and develop a sense of mutual respect for each other.

Sports and Physical Activities

Sports ActivityThe school ground accommodates approximately 300 students at any given time and flaunts specific arenas for basketball, Kho Kho, Short put and long jump. Separate efforts are taken toSports Day_Assemble incorporate Football play through our very own Budding Minds Football Club during after school hours at the school premises. These experiences often culminate in our yearly sports days, as well as in inter-school competitions across the State. Yoga, is the other activity we have recently included to ensure aspects of mental health and agility is catered to.APL Tour

Structured Play is another aspect that is planned for, for our preschool and Kindergarteners. Their sand pit offers play equipments that are deliberately chosen to meet their developmental needs.
