On your mark, get set, go! These words were so tense [in addition to Melvin Master’s shrieking whistle] that everyone was on the edge of their seats, waiting intently for their house to score first!! The boisterous audience were filling the atmosphere with enthusiastic, lively, deafening cheers that were very motivating!!

We had a bustling start; the Student Council Body was in full swing. They worked dutifully and the opening ceremony was done in a flash. The speeches were spoken out of utter gratitude! We commenced with the flag hoisting by the 2 chief guests, Mr.Bhaskar and Mr.Usain. Then the 4 houses assembled in their March Past positions and that was initiated with a loud drum beat! It was a huge success! Then the finals of the races begun and the cheers resumed! There was a mad scramble near the scoreboard and the scorekeepers were flustered in the end.?They were so eager that there had to be a stern warning, and if violated, it would result in reduction of points which simmered the piping audience down a notch.

The trials were conducted from grades 3-8. The Student Council Body were dispersed and in different jobs. It was smooth sailing and then came the illustrious prize distribution for grades PP1-Grade 3. The two chief guests left heartily and wore pleasant smiles. Lunch break arrived and everyone were busy speaking ‘bout the results and waiting eagerly! After the lunch break came the real fun! Grades 6-8’s finals!! That was glorious and heartwarming! The prize distribution followed closely! The resplendent Sports Day came to a triumphant end with the children geared up for the final presentation of the Shield!! The apocryphal Sports Synod 2017-18 was a blast!!!
