Our Kindergarten Literacy Programme helps every child become an enthusiastic reader and expressive writer. Our Programme builds independence and confidence in every learner. At BMIS, early literacy begins with joyful read-alouds, exploring different genres of fiction and non-fiction texts that develops a love for book reading at a very early stage of child's life.
Jolly Phonics program – Building Strong Readers and Writers
Early literacy at BMIS is nurtured through the globally acclaimed Jolly Phonics Programme, a multisensory and systematic approach to teaching reading and writing. This programme introduces children to the foundational sounds of the English language through engaging songs, actions, and stories, ensuring that learning phonics is both joyful and meaningful.
By engaging multiple senses, children not only learn the sounds of letters but also understand how to blend them to read words and segment them to spell. The programme empowers each learner to move from listening and recognizing sounds to confidently reading and writing with purpose and creativity.
