The whole of humanity is currently locked indoors, and will continue to be so until the coronavirus pandemic ends for good. But our fellow animals are roaming on the streets, carefree, unobstructed by humans. The rest of nature has fallen suit, from the healing ozone layer to trees reclaiming long-lost forests.
Nature’s party is going strong, and will continue to be so, and humans are not even stepping out of their front doors, that is how 2020 will end, and 2021 will commence.
Otters have been found roaming the streets of Singapore, and the Himalayas were seen for the first time in 30 years from Punjab. From blue skies in major Chinese cities, where the air used to be extremely polluted, to swans gliding through the now-clear canals of Venice, nature has essentially hit the reset button, after taking hit after hit from human civilization since the Industrial Revolution. In the eyes of nature, this is its revenge for human-caused climate change, in the guise of the Covid-19 pandemic.
We humans won’t get to join the fun, though, as nature sees Homo Sapiens as its arch enemy. At least we get to enjoy the greener grass and bluer skies outside the window.
So restating all of this, these times are only an apocalypse for humanity, and a party for nature.
